Year 9 – Chinese as a Second Language

The Year 9 IGCSE Chinese (Second Language) course builds on the Mandarin skills developed in earlier learning and helps students improve their ability to communicate more effectively in everyday situations. Through engaging and practical activities, learners will continue to strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while expanding their vocabulary and understanding of sentence structures.

Using dialog cards, interactive videos, course presentations, quizzes, and hands-on activities, this program supports active language learning and helps students gain greater confidence in using Mandarin in real-life contexts.

By the end of the course, students will be able to participate in longer conversations, describe experiences and daily activities, ask and respond to questions, and understand short spoken and written texts in Mandarin.
