Year 4 – Combined Science

The Cambridge Year 4 Combined Science course is designed to further develop learners’ understanding of scientific concepts through observation, investigation, and hands-on activities.

Students will explore important topics such as living things, materials, forces, energy, and the environment. Through simple experiments, discussions, and guided investigations, learners will strengthen their scientific curiosity and develop the ability to observe, question, and explain everyday phenomena.

This course places strong emphasis on:

• Understanding the characteristics and life processes of plants and animals

• Exploring different materials and their properties and uses

• Learning about forces, movement, and simple machines

• Observing energy sources such as light and heat

• Developing skills in asking questions, making predictions, and conducting simple investigations

Lessons include visual explanations, practical experiments, interactive activities, and guided discussions that encourage students to explore scientific ideas and think critically.

By the end of the course, students will be able to explain basic scientific concepts, carry out simple investigations, interpret observations, and develop a stronger interest in understanding the world through science.
