About This Course
The Year 11 Malay (as a Foreign Language) course is designed to strengthen students’ ability to communicate confidently and effectively in Malay in everyday and real-life situations. Building on prior language foundations, this course focuses on developing practical communication skills across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Students will engage with meaningful topics related to daily life, personal experiences, school routines, and social interactions. Through structured lessons, interactive activities, and guided practice, learners will improve their accuracy, fluency, and confidence in using Malay for common communication purposes.
The course emphasises the use of functional language, appropriate vocabulary, and clear sentence structures to help students express ideas, ask and answer questions, and participate in simple conversations. Learning is supported through interactive materials such as dialog cards, presentations, videos, quizzes, and applied practice tasks.
By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate effectively in Malay in familiar contexts, understand basic spoken and written texts, and use the language with confidence in everyday situations.
