Smart Onboarding: Cambridge Primary (Year 1–3) – Diagnostic

Purpose: A quick, friendly diagnostic to understand each child’s current level before lessons begin.

How it works

1. 3 mini blocks by year (Y1, Y2, Y3).

2. 8 short quizzes per block: English, Mathematics, Science, Malay, Chinese, ICT, Physical Education, Art/Music.

3. Each quiz has 5 very simple questions (about 2–3 minutes).

What we assess

• Early literacy & comprehension

• Number sense & basic problem solving

• Science observation & reasoning

• Bahasa Melayu & Chinese foundations

• Basic ICT familiarity

• Motor skills & creativity (teacher-observed items)

Time required: ~30–40 minutes total (can be done over 1–2 sittings).

What you’ll receive

• A clear Strengths & Focus Areas report by subject and year level

• Suggested next steps (e.g., phonics pack, number bonds, reading tasks)

Tips for parents

• Let your child try independently; it’s not an exam.

• Use a quiet space and, if possible, a tablet or computer.

• If your child is unsure, encourage them to make their best guess.
