About This Course

The IGCSE – Combined Science (0653) (Physics) course is designed to develop students’ understanding of the fundamental principles that explain how the physical world works, while preparing them for the Cambridge IGCSE Combined Science examination.

Students will explore key physics concepts such as motion and forces, energy, waves, electricity and magnetism, and basic ideas about matter and the universe. The course emphasises understanding how physical laws apply to everyday phenomena and technological applications.

Through structured lessons, diagrams, practical investigations, and exam-style questions, students will strengthen their scientific thinking and develop the ability to analyse data, solve problems, and explain physical processes using correct scientific terminology.

By the end of the course, students will be able to describe and explain key physical principles, interpret experimental data, and apply physics concepts to real-world situations.

What students will gain:

  • A strong understanding of key physics concepts in the IGCSE Combined Science syllabus

  • Ability to explain how forces, energy, electricity, and waves affect the physical world

  • Confidence in using physics terms, formulas, and diagrams

  • Practical skills in investigation, measurement, and data interpretation

  • Improved problem-solving and analytical thinking

  • A solid foundation for further study in physics and other science-related subjects
